Research on Nagaland has started, and the state that previously had no confirmed department now has one.
The Department of Horticulture keeps its own site, and it is organised the way a reader would hope: a schemes and programmes section, a news and downloads section, annual administrative reports, and pages for the directorate and the secretariat. That is the door, and it is recorded here.
What is behind those sections could not be pulled out by fetching, so nothing is registered below yet. The structure being right is worth something though: this is a department that has somewhere to put its scheme documents, which several larger states do not.
Nagaland matters more than its size suggests in this scheme. The Central Institute for Horticulture at Medziphema was set up in 2006 specifically for horticulture development across the North East, and under the national guidelines the Government of India funds that institute in full rather than on the usual split.
Nagaland is in the North Eastern region, so the Mission reaches a grower here as HMNEH rather than NHM, and the Government of India contributes 90% of the outlay rather than 60%. That is the split between governments, not a rate of assistance.
What does apply here meanwhile: the 64 statements we have taken from the MIDH operational guidelines of April 2025 hold across the country — the components the Mission supports, the national cost norms and the general rates of assistance. Those are the guides listed below, and every figure in them names the page it came from.
What happens next: opening the schemes and programmes and the downloads sections in a browser and registering what they hold.
