This is what we have read, not what the state pays. Nobody has yet confirmed a Delhi figure against the national norms, and this page does not give you one. It tells you what Delhi publishes, what is in it, and what to do with that. The national cost norms that apply meanwhile are in the guides linked at the foot of this page.
Delhi is the other jurisdiction on this site with no department linked, and unusually the reason is not only that we could not reach one.
What we could not find
The address the Delhi government uses for its agriculture department does not resolve for us at all. The territory's main portal answers, and carries no horticulture scheme page a fetch can find. No department is linked beside this for that reason — recording a general portal as a horticulture department would make this page look researched when it is not.
The harder problem: the word means three things here
In most states "horticulture" means growing fruit, vegetables and flowers for a living, and one directorate owns it. In Delhi it splits, and the pieces sit with different bodies:
- Farming in the rural villages. Delhi still has rural villages with agricultural land, and this is the part the Mission is actually built for. The development department is the body that has historically held it.
- Parks, avenues and plantations. The municipal corporation and the Delhi Development Authority both run substantial horticulture operations in this sense — grounds, trees, landscaping. They employ horticulturists and run horticulture divisions, and none of that is a grower subsidy.
- Terrace, kitchen and peri-urban growing, which sits awkwardly across all of them.
So a search for "Delhi horticulture department" returns real, active, well-staffed bodies that have nothing to do with claiming assistance for an orchard. That is the trap this page exists to flag, and it is a different failure from a broken website: the information is there and it is about something else.
Why the Mission fits awkwardly
The Mission is built around area expansion, orchards and protected cultivation as a rural livelihood, at a scale Delhi largely does not have. It is not that a grower here is excluded — the components apply in every state and union territory outside the North Eastern and Himalayan region — it is that the counter is harder to find because the constituency is small.
Which body a grower in Delhi would actually apply to under the Mission is not something this page can yet say. We would rather write that sentence than guess at an office and send someone to the wrong one.
What to do
If you farm in one of the rural villages, ask the development department first, and ask specifically which office administers centrally sponsored horticulture schemes — that phrase will get you further than "horticulture", which will route you to parks. The Krishi Vigyan Kendra serving Delhi is the other reliable door: its job is answering growers, and it will know what is open.
An RTI request asking which body implements the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture in the National Capital Territory would settle it in writing, and we would publish the answer.
What applies meanwhile
The national terms. The 64 statements taken from the MIDH operational guidelines of April 2025 hold here as everywhere outside the North Eastern and Himalayan region — the components, the national cost norms and the general rates of assistance. Those are in the guides below, each figure naming the page it came from.
If you know which body in Delhi implements the Mission, tell us. It would be a genuine help.
