This is what we have read, not what the state pays. Nobody has yet confirmed an Andaman and Nicobar Islands figure against the national norms, and this page does not give you one. It tells you what the Andaman and Nicobar Islands publish, what is in it, and what to do with that. The national cost norms that apply meanwhile are in the guides linked at the foot of this page.
This is one of only two jurisdictions on this site where we cannot give you a department. That is worth leading with rather than burying.
Why nothing is linked beside this page
The addresses we tried for the islands' agriculture administration do not resolve for us. The territory has an administration and it runs agriculture; we simply have not found an address for it that answers.
We could have linked the territory's general portal and called it a department. We have not, deliberately: a link under the words "the department that runs the Mission here" is a promise about where it goes. A general portal under that sign is the wrong door with the right label, and it would make this page look researched when it is not.
Two things that are solid anyway
The higher NHB rate names these islands. The National Horticulture Board's circular of 21 August 2026 sets assistance at 35% in general areas and 45% in the North Eastern and Himalayan states, Scheduled Areas and specified union territories — and it names the specified ones: the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. So a Board project here attracts 45%. That is a Board rule, from a document this platform holds and has taken statements from, not an islands figure — and it applies to Board schemes rather than to Mission components.
Coconut is handled elsewhere. Horticulture here is coconut, arecanut and spices, and coconut is the business of the Coconut Development Board rather than of the Mission's general components. If your holding is coconut, finding nothing in the Mission's list that fits is not a gap in your search. We have recorded no statement from the national guidelines on how that routing works, so take it as a pointer to try the Board first rather than as a sourced rule — unlike the paragraph above it, which names its circular.
How to find a counter when we cannot give you one
Four routes, roughly in order of how well they work.
The district or island agriculture office. Administrative offices exist whether or not their websites do, and they receive applications. In a territory spread across many islands this is also the only place that can tell you which office covers yours.
The Krishi Vigyan Kendra. Almost every district in India has one, they are staffed by people whose job is to answer growers' questions, and they generally know which scheme is open and who administers it.
The Coconut Development Board directly, if coconut is your crop — it has its own schemes, terms and application, and it is the right first call rather than the fallback.
An RTI request to the administration asking which office implements the Mission in the territory and what is currently open. That is exactly the kind of question the Act exists for, and it produces a written answer you can rely on.
What applies meanwhile
NHM is a national scheme, and the 64 statements taken from the MIDH operational guidelines of April 2025 hold in every state and union territory outside the North Eastern and Himalayan region — the components, the national cost norms and the general rates of assistance. Those are the guides below, each figure naming the page it came from. Island logistics will change what a project costs; they do not change what the norms say.
If you find an address for the islands' agriculture department that answers, tell us. One working address turns this page into a state guide.
